Tekakwitha Cottage

Tekakwitha Cottage photograph

This is the first of two modern cottages, having been built in 1963.  This is a two-story structure built on a slab.  Building area is 6,893 square feet.

As opposed to the older cottages, the construction materials include concrete block walls, with a combination of brick and stucco exterior.  Recent improvements to the building include roof covering replacement in 1986; replacement of the boiler in 1987; and ADA access remodeling in 1995.  Layout of the main floor includes a staff office; handicap accessible bedroom; kitchen; dining room; living room; laundry room; group meeting room; mechanical/electric room.  Furthermore, there is an additional classroom area that was recently constructed.  The second floor contains multiple bedrooms, a small lounge area and an administrative office.  Restroom facilities include two one-half baths on the main floor, and a larger, multi-fixture restroom on the second floor, in addition to another half bath.
