Richard Cottage

Richard Cottage photograph

This cottage is very similar in design to that of the Sullivan Cottage.  The notable differences include a lack of security features; a covered porch with pillars over the main entrance; and a lack of an elevator.  Building area is 9,996 square feet, which includes the full, unfinished basement.  The size of this building is the same as that of the Sullivan Cottage, with the exception of the area for the elevator shaft.  This building is 2.5 stories in design.

This building dates back to 1911 and is also part of the first buildings to be constructed.  However, this building has been moth balled since the 1970s, resulting in reduced maintenance over the past twenty or so years.  In general, the layout of the building is similar to that of the Sullivan Cottage.  As is the case with all of the cottages, heating is provided by a boiler (positioned in the basement) and the entire building is air-conditioned.
